WHALE TAIL PROJECT
THE WHALE TAIL PROJECT IS A PORSCHE-RELATED ARTWORK PAYING TRIBUTE TO PORSCHE RACING HISTORY
The story of the Whale Tail Project started in 2019 when Johans bought his first Porsche an 83’ 3,2 carrera targa. Johans has always been a petrol head, and when the decision was made to buy a classic car, a Porsche 911 was the obvious choice: a classic shape, a reliable flat six and pure air cooled engine.
The idea was to restore and customize the vehicle. When the process started, the car got totally disassembled and among all these parts, Johans noticed the spoiler and thought that it would be a shame to dispose of such a beautiful object and it would fit perfectly in his living room. The whale tail got delivered to his house and he decided to develop the idea and create an object that would represent the quintessence of the Porsche brand, history and technology.
His work is a fusion of his passions and experiences, combining multiple techniques. Johans takes pride in creating pieces that are not only aesthetically pleasing with the highest attention to detail but are also to specifications that are historically correct.
When creating our marketing materials, I imagined driving down an empty, windy road on a brilliant spring afternoon, falling under the spell of Porsche’s historic charm matched with fluidity and speed.
